The problem with two completely separate teams
Booking a photographer and videographer separately sounds simple until both suppliers start asking for time. The photographer needs couple portraits, the videographer wants movement shots, and both need access to the rings, a clean ceremony angle and the couple during golden hour. Suddenly a day that was supposed to feel relaxed has two creative teams pulling at the same timeline.
That problem is exactly why we built the Dexterous Weddings Media Team as a coordinated service rather than treating photography and video as two unrelated bookings. Instead of briefing two suppliers separately, the team works from one understanding of your timeline, priorities and key moments.
The same moment captured in two different ways
Take your vows. The photographer is looking for the still moment such as the expression, the tear, the hands holding one another. The videographer is capturing the words, the movement, the sound, the pause. Both are documenting the same moment, but neither replaces the other.
During the ceremony, positioning becomes especially important. Nobody wants their final wedding film filled with the back of the photographer's head, and equally, video equipment should not constantly appear inside the photographs. A coordinated team plans how each person works within the space. During couple portraits, you should not need a photography session followed by a completely separate video session, since both creatives can work within the same portrait window. During speeches, photography captures the reactions while video preserves the words, timing and sound of the room, so one moment creates two kinds of memory without asking you to recreate your wedding for the cameras.
One visual story, told through two mediums
When photo and video come from completely different creative directions, the final outputs can sometimes feel disconnected, as if they are interpretations of two different weddings. At Dexterous Weddings, our photography and film are designed to complement one another. The photography is natural and timeless, while our film approach leans cinematic but remains grounded in genuine moments rather than turning your wedding day into a production set.
Our Media Team packages are structured around the same coverage levels as our photography packages. Media Team Half Day gives you six hours with one photographer and one videographer, a full film and a three-minute highlights reel. Media Team Full Day extends to eight hours with a full film and a five-minute feature film. Media Team Full Pack gives you twelve hours with two photographers and one videographer, a full film, a seven-minute feature film and a one-minute trailer. All Media Team packages include a photo-only mini pre-wedding shoot, which helps us build comfort and photography rhythm before the full team arrives on the wedding day.
